A photograph taken from the courtyard of the Red Lion Hotel which stood on the corner of High Street North and Church Street. You can see part of the crossroads and West Street through the archway. According to an article in the Dunstable Gazette, the photograph was taken in 1914 and the man sitting in the courtyard is the licensee, Mr William Sowden. The Gazette had been sent the information by one of his grandchildren.
